First off, The Naked Fear is always recruiting. We don't care what class, race, or spec. We're looking for more laid back people like ourselves to come on and play every night. Granted, we do need some help in the endgame with healers and tanks, but we don't want to limit ourselves by recruiting just for endgame. We feel like we can enhance the leveling experience by providing a guildie the opportunity to use our vent, guildbank, and our other resources to help ding that magical 70 number. For some this has worked out just fine and they are strolling the streets of azeroth right now showing off that sexy <The Naked Fear> guild tag.

But for others, the guild experience wasn't what they had hoped for. Several folks left because we weren't strong enough in end game and we're fine with that. Some folks have left because their friends are in another guild and we have no problem with that either. But then we've had people leave because they said something along these lines - "well, they just weren't helping me" or "i'd ask to do something and no one would want to."

The board members have charged me with the task of explaining our stance on people leaving for the previous reason. What folks have to realize is that as a guild right now we have approximately 200 members. Subtract all of Bigpaw's alts and we have around 190 guild members. Alt or not, that's alot of guildies and on a hopping night we can have 40 or more on at one time. One of the great things about wow compared to other games is that there's so much that can be done - end game or leveling. Our guild has no true focus, so whether or not its Tyler trying to do a 3 chest run in ZA or Hellfirex trying to get a group together for AV we're supporting it all. Other folks are going even further and farming mats for new gear or doing like me and jumping on the insanity train and trying to grind for rep with pre-BC factions. It sometimes gets difficult to pull folks away from their focus, especially if all they're seeing is a random name in guild chat wanting help or looking to do something.

I think alot of times people join guilds under the assumption that the guild is there to help you the instant they join and that the guild will be there at their beckon call. Please realize that if you are a new member the guild is here for you, but don't expect us to go out of our way just yet. You've got to earn our respect first. Respect will come, but it takes time and we need to get to know you. That's one of the gifts that the guild gives you! We have a vent server and as you probably already noticed, an awesome new website with forums to talk to other guild members! We don't care what gear you've got or how you got it. We don't care how many characters you've leveled to 70 or how many of them were in Death and Taxes at one time. What we care about is you. Let us know who you are, not just what your toon is. Respect for us isn't gained by what you've done in game, its earned by working your way into our guild through socialization. What a novel concept! You're not going to be a board member in this guild just because you downed Illidan or M'uru on your warrior on some random pve-RP realm in Russia, you're going to have to earn it by getting to know us. That takes time, but so does leveling a character to 70 and prepping for endgame.

So in closing, take time to get to know the guild and take the time to become a part of it by socializing with the rest of us. Rest assured, you'll start to see us warm up to you in no time tongue
